1-METHYLNAPHTHALENE
(90-12-0, 1321-94-4)
1-Methylnaphthalene is a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH). It has a cetane number of zero, and was previously used as the lower reference for cetane number. However, due to the expense and handling difficulty of 1-methylnaphthalene, it was replaced in this capacity by isocetane, with a CN of 15.
ACENAPHTHENE
(83-32-9)
Acenaphthene is a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) consisting of naphthalene with an ethylene bridge connecting positions 1 and 8. It is a colourless solid. Coal tar consists of about 0.3% of this compound.
FLUORENE
(2299-68-5, 86-73-7)
9H-fluorene
Fluorene , or 9H-fluorene, is a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon. It forms white crystals that exhibit a characteristic, aromatic odor similar to that of naphthalene. It is combustible.
ANTHRACENE
(120-12-7, 54261-80-2, 90640-80-5)
anthracene, sodium salt, ion (1-)
Anthracene is a solid polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) of formula C14H10, consisting of three fused benzene rings. It is a component of coal tar. Anthracene is used in the production of the red dye alizarin and other dyes.
ACENAPHTHYLENE
(208-96-8, 34493-60-2)
acenaphthylene, radical ion (1-)
Acenaphthylene is a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon. The molecule resembles naphthalene with positions 1 and 8 connected by a C2H2 unit. It is a yellow solid.
HEXACHLOROETHANE
(67-72-1)
perchloroethane · carbon hexachloride · Avlothane
Hexachloroethane, also known as perchloroethane (PCA), C2Cl6, is a white crystalline solid at room temperature with a camphor-like odor. It has been used by the military in smoke compositions, such as base-eject smoke munitions (smoke grenades).
4,4'-Benzylidenedianisole
(7500-76-7)
4,4'-dimethoxytriphenylmethyl · 4,4'-dimethoxytrityl cation
1,1,1,2-TETRACHLOROETHANE
(23425-39-0, 630-20-6)
1,1,1,2-Tetrachloroethane is a chlorinated hydrocarbon. It is a colorless liquid with a sweet chloroform-like odor. It is used as a solvent and in the production of wood stains and varnishes.
