norgestrel oxime acetate
Norgestimate, sold under the brand names Ortho-Cyclen, Ortho Tri-Cyclen, Previfem, Sprintec, and Prefest among others, is a progestin that is used in combination with ethinylestradiol as an oral contraceptive and in combination with estradiol in menopausal hormone therapy. It is a prodrug, mainly of norelgestromin, but also of levonorgestrel in small amounts.
methyltestosterone (262423-02-9, 58-18-4)
Android  ·  Oreton  ·  Metandren
Methyltestosterone, sold under the brand names Android, Metandren, and Testred among others, is an androgen and anabolic steroid (AAS) medication which is used in the treatment of low testosterone levels in men, delayed puberty in boys, at low doses as a component of menopausal hormone therapy for menopausal symptoms like hot flashes, osteoporosis, and low sexual desire in women, and to treat breast cancer in women. It is taken by mouth. Side effects of methyltestosterone include symptoms of masculinization like acne, increased hair growth, voice changes, and increased sexual desire.
mestranol (72-33-3)
Ethinyl Estradiol 3 Methyl Ether  ·  Ethinyl Estradiol 3-Methyl Ether
Mestranol, sold under many brand names, is an estrogen which has been used widely in hormonal contraception in combination with progestins. It is a derivative and prodrug of ethinylestradiol.
Levonorgestrel (797-63-7, 6533-00-2)
Plan B  ·  Norplant  ·  Mirena
Norgestrel, sold under the brand name Ovral among others, is a progestin that is used in combination with an estrogen in hormonal contraceptives. It has also been used as an emergency contraceptive in the Yuzpe regimen.
ethinyl estradiol (57-63-6)
Estinyl  ·  Ethinyloestradiol  ·  Ethynyl Estradiol
Ethinylestriol (EE3), or 17α-ethynylestriol, also known as 17α-ethynylestra-1,3,5(10)-triene-3,16α,17β-triol, is a synthetic, steroidal estrogen that was never marketed. Nilestriol, the 3-cyclopentyl ether of ethinylestriol, is a prodrug of ethinylestriol, and is a more potent estrogen in comparison, but, similarly to ethinylestriol, was never marketed. Ethinylestriol has been found to reduce the risk of 7,12-dimethylbenz(a)anthracene (DMBA)-induced mammary cancer when given as a prophylactic in animal models, while other estrogens like ethinylestradiol and diethylstilbestrol were ineffective.
Medroxyprogesterone acetate (71-58-9)
Provera  ·  DepoProvera  ·  Depo Provera
Medroxyprogesterone acetate (MPA), sold under the brand name Depo-Provera among others, is a hormonal medication of the progestin type. It is used as birth control and as part of menopausal hormone therapy. It is also used to treat endometriosis, abnormal uterine bleeding, abnormal sexuality in males, and certain types of cancer.
diethylstilbestrol (6898-97-1, 56-53-1, 22610-99-7, 64-67-5)
Stilbestrol  ·  Distilbène  ·  Stilbene Estrogen
QUINESTROL (152-43-2)
Estrovis  ·  Ethinyl Estradiol 3 Cyclopentyl Ether  ·  Ethinyl Estradiol 3-Cyclopentyl Ether
Quinestrol (INN, USAN, BAN) (brand names Agalacto-Quilea, Basaquines, Eston, Estrovis, Estrovister, Plestrovis, Qui-Lea), also known as ethinylestradiol 3-cyclopentyl ether (EE2CPE), is a synthetic, steroidal estrogen which is used in menopausal hormone therapy and occasionally to treat breast cancer and prostate cancer. It is a prodrug of ethinylestradiol (with cyclopentanol also being formed) with no intrinsic estrogenic activity of its own, and has a very long terminal half-life of more than 120 hours due to enhanced lipophilicity. Because of its much longer terminal half-life, quinestrol is two to three times as potent as ethinylestradiol.
norethindrone (68-22-4)
Norethisterone  ·  Micronor  ·  Norlutin
Norethisterone (NET), also known as norethindrone, is a medication that is used in combination with estrogen or alone in hormonal contraceptives, menopausal hormone therapy, and in the treatment of gynecological disorders. It is a synthetic progestogen (or a progestin) of the 19-nortestosterone group and has similar effects to those of natural progesterone, including suppression of gonadotropins, ovulation inhibition, and endometrial transformation. In addition to its progestogenic activity, NET also has weak androgenic and estrogenic effects at high dosages.
medroxyprogesterone (520-85-4)
Adgyn Medro  ·  17 alpha-Hydroxy-6 alpha-Methylprogesterone  ·  17 alpha Hydroxy 6 alpha Methylprogesterone
Medroxyprogesterone (abbreviated as MP), sold under the brand name Controlestril, is a progestin which is used in veterinary medicine in France to control estrus in animals.
